FULL EFFECT CHURCH
RAEFORD, NORTH CAROLINA
About Our Pastor.
Pastor, Ophelia Ray was born and raised in Raeford, North Carolina in the West Hoke Village to the late Clem & Maggie Ray. At the age of 16, Elder Ophelia moved to New York City where she completed High School and College earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management from St. Joseph College in Brooklyn N.Y. (2005). At the early age of 18, Elder Ophelia Ray made a lifelong decision to give her life to Christ under the leadership of Reverend Derrick Gamble, Pastor of The Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. Elder Ophelia Ray soon became the Youth Leader and worked in ministry in many capacities for 16 years.
Elder Ophelia Ray began her career in City Government in 1977 in the roles of Director, Project Manager, Policy Manager, and Human Resources Management. During this time, she continued her biblical studies at New York Bible School of Theology earning a certification in Bible Basics. She also studied under Bishop Liston Page Jr. at the “Bible Logos College” for 2 years.
Elder Ray’s life for Christ was edified through a divine vision from the Lord on November 20th, 1985 in a dream. The Master called and showed her His Crown of Glory, and granted her His protection for His Kingdom work on earth. This was the impartation of the life she now testifies. God said to her, “go I am not ready for you, I have work for you to do.” She received the call and has not turn from the. vision at hand.
With a hunger to grow closer to God, in 1993 Elder Ray joined the Greater Highway Deliverance Temple Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Liston Page, Sr. She worked in leadership while growing her faith and family through the life changing teaching of Bishop Page Sr. Elder Ophelia Ray published and distributed over 400 news letters to family and friends throughout the fellowship and worked within the media ministry.
In the year 2000, Elder Ray joined the Full Effect Gospel Ministries Church under the leadership of Bishop Archie L. McInnis II. She continues to exemplify Christ wherever she goes as she continues to gain biblical knowledge through the leadership of this local assembly. She fulfilled her role as The Pastoral Care President for 6 years. Fundraising, and financial obligations to her Pastor were consistent and timely, a Youth Leader, Superintendent of Sunday School and Usher Board member. It’s no surprise that in March of 2004, she was ordained as a Minister to this local ministry. In April 2019, Bishop Archie L. McInnis II acknowledged the call of God for Elder Ophelia Ray’s life and on April 27th he ordained her as an Elder in the Lords Church. Appointing her as Campus Pastor of the Raeford, North Carolina Church. With a Bible in her hand, Elder Ray held her first service on May 5th, 2019.
After the loss of her mother “Maggie” in 2003, Elder Ray strived hard to establish a foundation in the legacy of her mom. She started her first community organization in Brownsville Brooklyn called Children of Color. In 2012, she saw the vision and moved back home and found Maggie’s Outreach Community Economic Development Center, a nonprofit organization that currently provides individual and family services to low-wealth families in Hoke County, North Carolina. She is looked upon as a leader in the community, who is well respected and her vision has grown to include her representation in the Governors Reentry Collaborative Council. Along with the Hoke County Appointee to the Lumbee River Workforce Development Board, and other major community advocate positions.
Elder Ray is the proud mother of 3 children: Terrance Lamont, Terria R, and Christian Elliot, two grandsons Marquis and Tristan, one-great grandson Sha`ron. She has raised over 29 foster children and has accounted for 25 Godchildren calling her “Auntie Phee”. She is a woman on fire for the Lord and loves to teach, preach and share the word of Holiness to the Believers of Faith…. On almost every document she writes, she somehow manages to recite her favorite slogan “I am Valuable to God”
